For my part, the volcano site is a magnificent playground for capturing photos and creating video montages, whether it’s dormant or erupting. It’s one of my favorite spots here: the Plaine des Sables gives you the sensation of traveling on the moon, the summit of Dolomieu crater seizes you with its energy. Since arriving on the island four years ago, I’ve never missed an eruption. We’re fortunate to live alongside one of the world’s most active volcanoes. Each excursion is always a surprise: nature evolves and transforms depending on the climate, the seismic activity of the moment, and the site reshapes itself with each new lava flow. Witnessing an eruption in real time is a unique experience that reminds us how powerful and wondrous nature truly is.
