Bassin Bleu: a cool break in eastern La R\u00e9union<\/h2>\n\n

The site is up in the hills above Saint-Beno\u00eet, in an area where showers are frequent and the vegetation stays especially dense. The name refers to several small pools and waterfalls reached via a trail. The point here is less about ticking off a \u201cmust-see\u201d than taking the time to discover a wetter, greener side of the island. <\/p>\n\n

Yes\u2014if you\u2019re after a short, nature-filled walk in the east, if you\u2019re staying around Saint-Beno\u00eet, Sainte-Anne or Saint-Andr\u00e9, or if you\u2019re putting together a flexible day between waterfalls and the wild coastline.
